We are not a retailer

Today I met an African friend in our shop in Huaqiangbei.

I got so many messages and he was telling me he wants to buy a lot of phones from us. In fact, we found out that he only needs one specific phone in stock and he has a very specific budget. I don’t know how to avoid this but we don’t have enough human resources to handle retailing and customer services, we are a small company and we don’t have time and resources to handle consumers who have no idea or very little knowledge about phone trade. They asked me a lot of stupid questions and if we don’t answer them in time, they get very angry and start to call us names. Sometimes some people tell me that they need one or two phones at the moment, but if we can offer them much better prices they can buy 5,000 to 10,000 units. In fact, we don’t have so many phones in stock, we keep very low stocks and not every time the models our clients need have stocks. In the phone trade business, the margin is very low that others can’t image. If you are in this business, it is a few percents for the phone manufacturers and resellers, only Apple makes a good profit, others can’t. Yesterday I had an inquiry from a South American friend who needs a specific model for 300 units and his targeted price is 50% of the retailing price. Obviously, he has no experience but he is a good and nice guy. I might be able to do some other business with him.

In conclusion, We are looking for only a few partners who are willing to deal with the customers’ services in their countries. I am sure good partners in their countries can serve their local customers better.
